Mimmo Rotella Institute

Artist's archive
Milan

The Mimmo Rotella Institute, a cultural association founded in 2012 at the behest of Inna and Aghnessa Rotella in order to promote nationally and internationally the knowledge and protection of the figure and art of Mimmo Rotella.

About us

Since the beginning of the work of systematizing and digitalizing the archive of the artist Mimmo Rotella, the Mimmo Rotella Institute has availed itself of the collaboration and advice of Officinebit, which has devised innovative and ad hoc solutions for all our needs: from the photographic campaign of the works, carried out professionally between 2004 and 2005, to the creation of specific formats for the analysis of the works aimed at the creation of the Catalogue Raisonné by the artist, but also for the management of requests for registration, publications and photographs owned by the archive.

With Officinebit we have been able to carry out and still carry out a systematic and up-to-date work with the latest technologies that has allowed an effective and integrated management of the various and multiple cases that arise from time to time in a contemporary archive.

Photographs and inventory

Mimmo Rotella, known as the master of décollage, has experimented with different artistic techniques. The photographic campaign and the filing of images constitute the core body of the software and were the starting point for the creation of the solution still under development.

A place for every occurrence

The artistic activity of Mimmo Rotella, one of the most daring experimenters of the second 20th century, includes many types of artistic techniques.
For each type of work, the respective fields of insertion are provided, the different exhibition activities in public and private spaces are related to each work with the relevant documentation materials: bibliographic citations from monographs and periodicals, letters, invitations and various documents.
The work, at the center of the software solution, with its various relationships, is connected to a very large and constantly developing system, all made thanks to the scrupulous study of the author by the Mimmo Rotella Institute scholars.
